1. They create a beautiful and instant contrast on a wide range of hair color bases.
2. When woven around the face, they brighten skin tones.
3. Highlights intertwined throughout bangs will make eyes pop.
4. When placed appropriately, highlights can cover the beginnings of gray, silver or white strands.
5. Highlights give you a taste of a new color without the full head color commitment.
6. The addition of highlights can completely change the profile of an existing style with minimal impact.
7. Highlights can complement certain hair textures. Nothing is more gorgeous that naturally curly tresses hand painted with contrasting spiral highlights.
8. You have the option to go with a full head of highlights or alternate between full and partial head.
9. Hair extensions can be applied to create the appearance of highlights without any color application.
After Color Application - Making Your Haircolor Last
1.Make sure hair is Clean for stylist to color it!
Wait 48 hours, if possible, before washing your hair after a color service. The longer you can wait to shampoo after highlighting and low lighting, the better chance you have of keeping the color vibrant for an extended period.
2. Shampoo and condition your hair with hair care products designed for chemically highlighted, colored or low lighted strands. Remember to use products that honor the special needs of chemically processed strands.
3. Avoid using hot water when you shampoo. Hot water instantly fades highlights and low lights.
4. Shampoo as infrequently as possible.
5. Use color depositing shampoos, conditioners and styling products to help deposit lost color back into the hair. When possible, use color depositing products every other shampoo.
Winter Hair tips
The dry and cold winter can be very damaging to your hair. Hair easily becomes dry during this time of year from the dry indoor heating and the dry cold weather outside. Proper preventative steps need to be taken during this seasons to ensure that your hair does not get damaged.
Winter Hair Care Tips
Wear a scarf, hat or cap to protect your hair from the cold and wind, but make sure that it's not so tight that it will restrict circulation in your scalp.
Use a conditioner daily.
Once you have your hair moist, lock in the moisture by running your hair through cold water, this will also give your hair an extra shine.
Don't go outside with your hair wet, you risk breakage; your hair will freeze if it's cold enough outside and may break.
Limit your use of "hot" items on your hair such as a blow dryers and curling irons.
If you need to use a "hot" item use a leave in conditioner before using the item on your hair.
Avoid taking hot showers or washing your hair in hot water, use warm or cool water instead, the heat can dry out and/or damage your hair and skin.
Hair products that have the word, "Replenish" on it is made to moistureize your hair.
Try using a dry shampoo if you need to wash out your hair, one dry shampoo you can use is Kenra I sell it at the salon! If you need a quick fix use baby powder, simply sprinkle some onto your hair and use a comb to comb it off.
Maintaining a Look
The key to a great seasonal hair style is not to make any abrupt changes, unless you are interested in radically changing your look. Adding layers or bangs is a great way to refresh a look as the season progresses, while highlights and color tips can be used for additional depth and distinction.
Holiday Tips for Fall Styles
As autumn progresses, many people look for ways to utilize their fall styles for different holidays. While costume wigs may be great for Halloween, subtler touches are needed for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other end-of-year special occasions. Because long hair is popular this year, updos are a sleek and elegant option, while themed head bands and other novelties are fun accents for any holiday.
